Yep, next year is the 40th Anniversary of the Ford Capri. I'm organising an end of Season Event to celebrate the occasion
I know it's early yet but these thing's take planning, so here goes.....

Saturday 26th September 2009.
Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey. KT13 OQN.

Brooklands, the Birthplace of British Motorsport, has room for over 300 Capris. This make's it an ideal place for such an event, easily accessible from junction 10 of the M25, taking the A3 towards London leaving at the first (Painshill) roundabout, then following the brown signs to Brooklands Museum.

Admission prices (2008).
Adults £8 Each.
Children £5 Each.
Family Ticket £20.

Note: No dogs allowed.
Disabled parking available.

The aim of the show is to celebrate 40 years of the Ford Capri.
The Paddock area in front of the Club House at Brooklands will be used to display Capris from the earliest Mk1 through to the final 280 Brooklands. One or two from each marque will be displayed in this prime spot along with the special variants, ie - Tickford, JPS, Turbo Technics, Broadspeed.......etc.
I will be looking for owner's who own that 'special' Capri who are willing to display their car in the Paddock area. More than one of each kind may be needed, so if you think your's is what I'm looking for, then send some pics and a brief discription to - kevin134@blueyonder.co.uk - Thank's.

The Paddock area can hold around 25/30 car's. The rest of the massive Brooklands site will be used for the Capri parking. Individuals and clubs are all invited.

Brooklands is also famous for it's Motoring Village with it's original tuning sheds where great record-breaking cars such as Malcolm Campbell's Blue Bird can be seen, along with vintage motorcycles.

If you want a break away from looking at Capris there is the Concorde Experience, yes, you can go on board the South East England's only Concorde accessible to the public (extra charge applies). If you've had enough of that there is the Wellington Hanger where you may meet the team that restored the Wellington Bomber recovered from Loch Ness, plus try the cockpit of a Harrier jump-jet for size.

The grounds of Brooklands will also be open to the general public on the day.

Autojumble & trade stands to be organised / confirmed.

So, a date for your '09 diary, I hope you agree.

Any enquiries please leave a message on here or email me on the address above.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Paddock display area is now nearly full with some great looking Capris.
Don't worry if your not in this area, the Brooklands site can hold 100's of cars in it's grounds. You'll still feel part of this BIG show.

As for the Ford Fair show at Silverstone, I guess keep an eye on their website for info........

Latest update......31/03/09.......

After having a meeting with the Brooklands Events Manager, the following
is now confirmed.

30 selected Capri's will be parked up in the Paddock area.
Those who have already applied for a space and received confirmation from
me, thanks, I'll be in touch with arrival time. There are still a couple of spaces
left, (and subject to anyone cancelling their space) the Paddock area is now full.

Club Stand space is available for booking now!
Any Clubs wishing to display their Capri's together can they let me know how
many cars you will be bringing along. I can then let Brooklands know and a space
will be reserved for your Club. All parking is on hard-standing, feel free to bring along
Club banners.....etc. Club gazebo's are not recommended due to the hard - standing
and vital space they take up. - Admission charges below - payable on the day.

Please don't feel disapointed if you've not been selected for displaying your Capri in
the Paddock area, from the responses I've received I could have filled it three times over!
Your definitely still feel 'part of the show' outside of the this area. I have to draw the line
somewhere. Come along with your local Capri Club / Forum, whatever, it will be worth it.

I've received several emails / phone calls with rumours that Capri's displayed outside
of the Paddock area will be parked up in a general car park. This is rubbish! All Capri's
that turn up on the day either with a Club or as an individual will be given a parking
space on the Brooklands Grounds that makes them feel 'part of the day'.

Admission charges (payable on the day at the gate).
Adults £9 each. Children aged 5-16 £5 each.
Family Ticket (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) £24.

The above charges allow entrance to the Brooklands Museum, Wellington Hanger,
Tea Rooms / Dining area.......etc.

Please note: No Dogs allowed.

Other attraction - The Concorde Experience. A 30 minute visit aboard the aircraft includes
an exhibition in the rear cabin about how the aircraft was built and it's connection with
Brooklands. You will see a display of Concorde interiors through the decades before you
take your seat in the front cabin for a virtual flight, piloted by Captain Mike Bannister. The
flight deck can be photographed before you exit the aircraft. Admission Adults £4, Children £2.

Weather permitting!! around 20/25 Capri's will be hand picked for a photo-shoot on the old banking of the circuit.
I emphasize weather permitting because of the very slippery nature of the old circuit.
This will be decided on the day.

Above all, whether you attend with a Club or as an individual, ENJOY your day at the Brooklands
Museum celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Ford Capri.
----------------------------------------------------------

Surrey Capri Club / Brooklands Officials & Marshals will be on hand all day if you have any enquiries.
